Harrogate Raiders is one of Yorkshire's longest-running basketball clubs — a community institution built on a love of the game and a commitment to making it accessible to everyone.
Our story
Founded in 1971, Harrogate Raiders has been a cornerstone of the local sporting community for over five decades. What started as a small group of basketball enthusiasts has grown into a thriving club with senior teams competing at league level and a junior academy shaping the next generation of players.
We've always believed that basketball should be for everyone — regardless of age, ability, or background. That philosophy has guided us through more than 50 years of the game, and it remains at the heart of everything we do today.
We are a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC), reflecting our commitment to the people of Harrogate and the surrounding area.
Where we play
Our home is Ashville Sports Centre in Harrogate — a great facility that hosts our senior training sessions, junior academy, and casual sessions throughout the week.
The league
Our senior teams compete in the Leeds & District Basketball League. We are affiliated with Basketball England and all competitive players are registered through the PlayHQ platform.

We exist for Harrogate. A club that's been part of this town for over 50 years and plans to be here for 50 more.
Inclusivity
From complete beginners to seasoned players — everyone is welcome. You don't need to be good to join, just willing.
Development
We want every member to improve. Whether that's junior players learning the basics or seniors refining their game.
